Maryam Al Suwaidi, Senior Director of Contracts and Procurement Department at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment told Al-Bayan that their total purchases for the benefit of members of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Small and Medium Enterprises Development reached 35.8 million dirhams in the past two years, or 20% of the total value of the purchases of Mohammed bin Rashid Housing.

Construction projects

She stated that the number of transactions in the construction projects sector for member companies in the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises in 2018 and 2019 amounted to 50 transactions, and the number of companies benefiting 20 companies, noting that in the field of supplies and services, the number of transactions in the same period reached 78 transactions , For 21 companies.

She said that this comes out of the responsibility of the Foundation towards Emirati youth, who aspires to develop its business and leadership and ensure its success in a way that benefits them, and in accordance with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God bless him, regarding Stimulating the economic growth of the emirate, which included the necessity for government agencies to achieve 20% of their purchases for the benefit of members of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Small and Medium Enterprises Development.

Various activities

She stated that the companies that signed the contract to provide their services diversified their activities in more than one sector, including the provision of security and cleaning services, and the sectors specialized in electronic systems and the construction projects sector, etc., explaining that the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment ranked fourth in the level of government agencies in the emirate, Which cooperates to support young Emirati entrepreneurs, members of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises, and that this reflects the Foundation’s commitment to them, especially since they have cooperated with them for 11 years.

She stated that Mohammed bin Rashid Housing held a meeting for the contracting companies and member consultants, as they numbered 30 companies, to inform them of the Foundation’s desire to enhance cooperation with them, as the most important projects completed by the Foundation were presented while they were discussed with them about any challenges they might face to overcome them or see their observations. To facilitate them, these recommendations included speeding up the process of disbursing financial payments due to the pressure that the business owner suffers in managing his project expenses, allocating a specific email and assigning a private employee in the Contracts and Procurement Department to respond to inquiries, and follow up on members of the Mohammed bin Rashid Foundation for Development of projects For small and medium.

The recommendations also included communicating with "Tejari" the electronic supply portal for government agencies in the Emirate of Dubai, to study the possibility of registering once in the system according to uniform criteria for classification instead of registering separately in each government department, and extending the response period for tenders in the system from two weeks to 3 Weeks, to allow sufficient time for submitting offers, and to coordinate with Tejari to display the results of the bidding after the award of all participating companies and determine the winning companies.
